As part of Montclair’s ongoing Church Street pedestrianization initiative, Church Street will be closed to cars again this weekend, August 21–23, creating a pedestrian-friendly space for the community to walk, gather, dine, shop and enjoy downtown Montclair.
To help bring the street to life, the Township and our community partners have a full lineup of activities planned:
🎬 Friday, August 21 at 6 PM
Enjoy a screening of "tick, tick... BOOM!" featuring a special performance by Tony Award winner Joshua Henry before the film, presented in partnership with Montclair Film, Keycuts, Montclair Center BID and Netflix.
🏛️ Saturday, August 22 at 10 AM
Discover the stories that make Montclair unique during a historic walking tour of Church Street and the surrounding area with the Montclair History Center. Registration is required and space is limited.
🎨 Saturday, August 22 from 12–2 PM
Make art and meet your neighbors with the Montclair Art Museum and NJPAC Arts & Well-Being! Try your hand at cyanotype, a creative sun-printing process using light and everyday objects. All ages and abilities are welcome, and no registration is required.
🐶 Sunday, August 23 at 3 PM
Dachshund owners and their four-legged friends are invited to a “Weenie” Meetup & Parade, starting at L&B Healthy Pet Market.
Come experience Church Street on foot and enjoy a weekend of community, arts, culture, local businesses.
