What a beautiful spring day to kick off our First Pitch season. Thank you to Coach Mahoney and the other volunteers for helping run the program. And a special thanks to the The Better Bean for sponsoring our littlest athletes again this year.

It is a gorgeous day for our first day of Sports Tots. Day one was soccer and our youngest little athletes did great. Goal!!

There has been a lot of concern about whether the summer programs will be running this summer. With the recent rescinding of the vote to eliminate Parks & Recreation, we are happy to say that our summer programs will be up and running and we are ready for another year of summer fun. The Monson Parks and Recreation Department is proud to be the "grounds Crew" for many sporting and community events through out the year. Below is a list of the events we have lined up for this spring! We have a few more schedules coming in to add to the line up as well as a few other community events that will bring us up over 100 . Check out the list for an event coming up and support our great community!

We wanted to take a moment and thank the Townspeople of Monson, Community Preservation Committee for approving over $500,000 in Community Preservation Act Funds for some great projects we have been able to accomplish over the years to upgrade our parks. We hope that everyone has had a chance to enjoy them and we hope we get the opportunity to do some more in the coming years!!! We love providing opportunities for everyone in Monson! These projects include: Redeveloping Flynt 2 baseball field, playground and bleachers at Flynt Park, playground expansion at Veterans Field, irrigation at Tassinari Field, Renovate Constantino Field, Renovate the basketball court at Veterans Field, Mountainside Disc Golf Course, safety netting at Lower Roger’s Field, Friendship swing and pavilion at Flynt Park. Renovate Cushman 2 baseball field, renovate Quarry Hill Softball fields and Renovate the full size diamond at Veterans Field. THANK YOU MONSON RESIDENTS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!!

Thank you to the Water Department and Facilities Department for getting the restrooms open for the season at Veterans Field for our events!!! They open at 6:30am and close at 7pm.
