YSIG and BAYA are partnering to bring you young adult library professional development!

BAYA is the Bay Area Young Adult Librarians group, based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, that focuses on professional development for young adult library services professionals and library students. Most of their meetings are over Zoom or Hybrid so anyone in California is welcome to join the meetings.

Every odd month, BAYA hosts a professional development presentation and talk about all things teen services, from programming to books, to the library world in general.

Membership is easy at just $20 a year. Memberships is not required to attend BAYA meetings.

Attend the next BAYA meeting on March 25th, from 10-12PM. The meeting will be hybrid, either in-person at the Fremont Main Library in Fremont, CA or virtually over Zoom. More information on the website, baya.org.

Again, YSIG members are welcome to attend!

What to learn more about BAYA and attending? Check out: BAYA.org OR, email us and we’ll send you an invite! [email protected]

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we made the difficult decision to push the Youth Summit to April 2026.

In the meantime, we are working on a plan to have monthly discussions on a variety of topics with the entire interest group.

We'd also like to host regular hangouts in the Discord server. This way we can continue to build community, stay in touch with YSIG members, and prepare for next year's Summit and make it bigger and better.

If you haven't joined the Discord server, check it out here: discord.gg/9ydUYuwvPf
