Maybe I do keep too many things. This is from the 2013-14 school year when I first went to OES. There were still a few pieces of chalk in it. I don't remember blackboards at OES, but that might have been because I was in the new wing (a year old at the time).

Day 3 - Great visits with Dr. Louers Phillips and Janie Inglis Monier to Linganore Creek ES and Blue Heron ES. I then met Dr. Harris and Dr. Myers to tour Brunswick MS, Brunswick ES, and Valley ES.

That makes 14 schools over the past three days. No one can tell me that our education professionals don't perform magic everyday. The buildings looked amazing, students were smiling and learning, and staff was working and collaborating.

Thank you to all the administrators for taking their time to show off their schools.

Day 2 - tagged along with Dr. Lebo to Deer Crossing and Middletown Elementary. I saw my old teammate, Matt McVay, who is the new principal at MES.

I then met up with Dr. Bingman, Mr. Blivess, and Board Member Janie Inglis Monier for the end of their visit at Lincoln, where I saw former teammates Dr. Michele Baisey and Kim Brandenburg, the dynamic admin duo. Also saw teacher Aaron Vetter, the founder of City Youth Matrix.

Finished up with a tour of the Earth & Space Science Lab. Thank you to Adam Farbman for generously spending time with us. The ESSL is one of the jewels of FCPS!

Toured the Walkersville feeder and Windsor Knolls MS with Dr. Aliveto today. All 6 schools were knocking it out of the park on their first student day. I got a salute from a student at WKMS when she saw BOE on my badge. How am I going to get my first day fix next year?

I didn't take many pictures because I was trying not to have my phone, er camera, out much. FCPS students and staff are amazing!

Dropped by Yellow Springs ES yesterday where they were celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the school. In a few months, they'll move into their new building down the street, and Carroll Creek Montessori will move in. Very excited for both school communities. Toured the school and found some old yearbooks in the cafeteria. One of my former principals was at YSES for a while - Pete Storm. Another former principal, Kathy Prichard, was at the ceremony, as was current principal, Hannah Feldman. I heard a number of reunions occurring throughout the school.
