Monroeville Senior Citizen Center The MSC is a community recreational center for active adults 50+years and older. Center has over 6,000 members.

The center provides a variety of recreational, fitness, instructional, and social programs for adults in Monroeville and the surrounding communities. The Monroeville Senior Citizen Center, built in 1989 and has become the hub of activity for Monroeville and Pitcairn adults. The MSC provides daily activities, services, and programs for adults 50 years of age and older. On average the center has app

roximately 6,000 visits per month with an average of 72,000 visits per year. The center offers a variety of weekly and monthly activities: social clubs, shuffleboard leagues, social card groups, Mon Jongg group, domino group, arts and craft clubs, monthly luncheons, movies days, instructional classes, informative seminars, wellness talks, fitness clinics, trips and tours, and monthly special events. Services offered included health services, counseling services, and drivers training classes. The free health services include blood pressure screenings and hearing screenings. The Financial Counseling is also available through AARP. In addition, the center provides a free bus service to residents of Monroeville and Pitcairn for social club meetings, monthly luncheons, and special events held at the center. The center also has fitness center that is open daily. The facility features a great line of senior friendly cardio and strength training equipment including Precor treadmills, recumbent and upright bikes, AMT’s, recumbent stepper, recumbent elliptical, and Precor strength training equipment, The center also has the Star Trac Humansport strength training system. The use of this room is “FREE to all Monroeville/Pitcairn residents 65 years of age or older. Membership packages are available for resident adults 50-64 years and nonresident’s 50+ years. The fitness center also offers a variety of fitness and exercise programs which include:
Silver Sneakers Classic, CardioFit, Boom, Stability, and Yoga
Silver&Fit Experience
Yoga Stretch
Beginners and Advanced Tai Chi
TRX strength and stretch classes
Balance & Stability classes
Personal training program
MSC walking group
Monthly fitness clinics
Monthly fitness challenges

The center is a certified site for both the Silver Sneakers and Silver&Fit Programs.
