I've been onstage for a long time now, and can say that there are two kinds of appearances that memory retains: the disasters and the select few, the instantly prescious. Last night premier of 'Saving Face' featured an audience containing storytellers, fellow performers, ex assistants, McDonald's people, family and even some people I didn't know! To each of them I say 'Thank you.' It was truely a memorable evening, made even moreso by their smiling faces. Special thanks to Prime Stage Theater's Wayne and Connie Brinda for taking a chance on this recovering circus clown. Haha.

FOR 1 NIGHT ONLY, Pittsburgh storyteller Mike Perry will premiere his latest stage creation on May 6 at New Hazlett — Saving Face: Memoir of a Circus Clown.
Says Perry:
"Once upon a time, a child would say I’m afraid, and the adult would say, 'It’s okay.' Today, a child picks up a phone and says I’m afraid, and an algorithm says, 'Yes, you are, and here’s why.' In the digital algorithm age people are being told what they like, and curiosity is suffering as a result."
Saving Face: Memoir of a Circus Clown is a chance to re-ignite your own curiosity about how we see the world when we forget someone else is watching.

Thank you one and all for attending our story sharing last evening. Our fearless leader Stas is leaving, fearlessly? Or so he'd have us believe! He asked that I take the pie, and I thought, "Don't that take the cake!" So onward and upwords (pun intended) we go to the future, telling along the way. Though he's still here, I miss him already. Thanks Stas for gittin us goin. We carry on and wish you
well.
