Summer is here and let's talk about safety from those UV rays. Sunscreen can help lower your risk of skin cancer but there are some things to keep in mind so it is most effective.
☀️ Use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Choose sunscreen that is water resistant and that protects you from both UVA and UVB rays.
☀️ Apply sunscreen 15 minutes before going outside. This gives your skin time to absorb the sunscreen and protect you.
☀️ Apply about 1 ounce of sunscreen to cover your entire body. Cover any bare skin, such as your neck, ears, and the tops of your feet. Use lip balm with an SPF of at least 15 to protect your lips.
☀️ Reapply your sunscreen every 2 hours, or right after swimming or sweating. Make sure the sunscreen you're using hasn't expired.
