Those who remember John I'm sure will agree this is a terrible loss. RIP sir!

It’s with deep sadness we announce the untimely passing of Life Member John Centofanti. John was 58 years old.

John passed away unexpectedly earlier today. John was currently serving as an elected Fire Commissioner in the Monroe Joint Fire District that provides fire protection to the Town of Monroe.

John was also the active Vice President of our fire company and the current Dive Captain for the Monroe Fire Department Dive Team.

John had served in the past as a first Lieutenant in our company too. He will be tremendously missed.

We will miss our friend and brother fireman. Please keep his friends and family in your thoughts and prayers.

John is survived by his sister Holly Haman of Roswell, GA; and by his brother Matthew Centofanti of Middletown, NY. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brother-in-law Charles Haman.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Smith, Seaman, and Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe, NY. Firematic Services to begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 7:45. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
