Parents and caregivers are often the first to notice when something feels different. Changes in mood, sleep, appetite or behavior may signal a young person needs support.

Trauma happens when someone experiences something scary or overwhelming, and it can affect how they feel, think, and act every day. People may struggle with emotions, focus, relationships, or even physical health without realizing trauma is the cause. With understanding, support, and safe spaces, healing is possible and lives can change for the better. 💙

2025 Kids Count Data Ranking for Georgia's 4th grade reading achievement.

Georgia ranks 28th in the nation in fourth-grade reading achievement in the 2025 KIDS COUNT Data Book. While that rate is on par with the national average, this is still a troubling trend because children who reach fourth grade without being able to read proficiently are more likely to drop out of high school, reducing their earnings potential and chances for success.
