We have a great opportunity for those graduating seniors that may be interested in firefighting/ems.

Monroe Charter Township Fire Department is now accepting applications for paid on call firefighters, with no experience necessary, for our Fall hiring process. All fire and medical training is provided and paid for by Monroe Township. Applicants can apply at the fire department headquarters located at 15331 South Dixie Highway, Monday-Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. Graduating from Monroe County Fire Academy this past week. The Fire Academy consist of 390 hours of school/practicals. Please help us congratulate Fifth Generation Firefighter Merkle!

The Monroe Charter Township Fire Department Cadets Program participated in the annual mock disaster held at the Monroe County Fair grounds where our cadets responded to multiple incidents including medical emergencies, vehicular accidents, hazardous materials calls, electrical arcing, a vehicle fire, and a mass casualty incident. Thank you to Bedford Township Fire Department for hosting the mock disaster and the following agencies for participating. Bedford Fire Explorers, Northville Fire-Rescue Explorer Post 1717, Dearborn Police Explorer Post 1177, Saline Police cadet/explorers, and Ida Township Fire Department. Also, a special thank you to all the volunteers that participated as patients/ victims. Thank you all for a great experience for our cadets

Your Monroe Township Fire Department conducted its weekly training exercise yesterday, focusing on the operation and pumping of water utilizing our aerial apparatus. Department members participated in stations dedicated to pump operations and truck setup of our Truck 1 and Truck 6.

We are proud to recognize our four graduates, Ben Calandra, Gavin Bukovitz, Chris Manley, and Olivia Merkle, who successfully completed the rigorous training program.
