Due to the expected winter storm, all Walton County government offices will be closed from Saturday, January 24 through Monday, January 26.

County staff have been working on an emergency plan for over a week and we are well prepared to respond as conditions develop. Our teams are ready, but we need your help too.

Please stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Keeping roadways clear helps ensure that emergency vehicles and first responders can get where they need to go quickly and safely.

The Walton County School District will make all decisions regarding school closures or schedule changes. Please follow the Walton County School District - GA or their website for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

We appreciate your cooperation and will continue to share updates as needed. Stay safe, stay warm, Walton County.

Advance voting begins today for the Runoff Election for the City of Social Circle Board of Education Chair. Advance voting runs through Wednesday, November 26th, excluding Sunday.
The hours will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the South Walton Community Center located at 573 Fairplay Drive in Social Circle.
Election Day is December 2nd.

For those voters who live within the city limits of Monroe, Social Circle or Loganville, there will be a political forum tonight at the Historic Courthouse beginning at 5:30.

Just a reminder about the Political Candidate Forum taking place tonight at the Historic Courthouse in Downtown Monroe. It will be Facebook Live and YouTube Live on the Walton Chamber accounts.

🇺🇸 Today is the Democratic Special Primary Runoff Election. There is only one precinct open today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1025 E. Spring Street in Monroe.
If you voted the Democrat ballot on June 17th or did not vote, you are eligible to vote in this runoff. There is no Republican Runoff.
