CASA of Northeast Louisiana

CASA of Northeast Louisiana CASA of NELA believes every child should grow up in a safe, permanent home. Join us today as an Advocate and make a difference in the life of a child!

CASA of Northeast Louisiana is a division of The Center for Children and Families. Advocates with CASA are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in an inappropriate group or foster home. They stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their Advocate will be the one constant adult presence—the one adult who cares only for them. Join us today to . 💙 Find Your Five! 💙

You know someone who would make a great CASA Advocate. We’re asking everyone who knows about CASA to find FIVE people and have FIVE conversations about the difference we’re making in the lives of children.

Together, those five conversations can create a ripple effect across Northeast Louisiana!

Help us fill our October and November training classes and Change A Child’s Story.

Fall Five is here! 🍂

We’re challenging YOU to have 5 conversations with 5 people about CASA!

That could be a friend, coworker, neighbor, family member or anyone who might be ready to make a difference in a child’s life.

Your five conversations could help us fill our October and November CASA training classes and, most importantly, help more children in foster care have someone in their corner.

5 conversations. 5 people. 1 BIG impact.

Help us Change a Child’s Story. ❤️

Check us out at CASAofNELA.org!

❤️ They are waiting for someone like you.

Every child in foster care deserves a caring adult who will show up, speak up, and make sure their voice is heard.

CASA of Northeast Louisiana is looking for YOU. Our upcoming October and November advocate training classes are forming now, and we need five new advocates in EACH class!

You don’t have to be a superhero. You just have to be willing to make a difference. As a CASA volunteer, you’ll stand alongside a child, advocate for their best interests, and help change a child’s story.

Could you be one of our next five?

In his keynote, “Your Story Is Not the Problem. Hiding It Is,” Eddie will take us through three defining moments from his life and explore how trauma, adversity, failure, and resilience shape the way we show up for the people we serve.

Because the work we avoid in ourselves can show up in the room with clients. But the work we do? That can become our greatest asset.

Join us for a keynote that will challenge, inspire, and remind you that your story is your superpower.

Earlier this month, Louisiana CASA hosted a training in Monroe, LA on the newly developed Child Well-being Assessment for Region 4 CASA staff. This training is part of our ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Initiative, which aims to elevate child advocacy across the state through evidence-based and data-informed practices.

Designed for staff who supervise CASA volunteers, the training focused on how to integrate the updated assessment into case management workflows and how to ensure volunteers are effectively trained to use this tool in their advocacy. By equipping staff with these resources, we’re laying the groundwork for more consistent, informed, and impactful advocacy for children in foster care.

Louisiana CASA’s CQI Initiative, launched in 2024, represents a long-term commitment to improving outcomes for children by using data to inform practice, build accountability, and drive meaningful change. Through initiatives like this, we’re ensuring that every child’s voice is not only heard, but truly understood. 💙❤

Ever wonder what a CASA volunteer actually does?

The role of a CASA is so simple and yet so complex. Thankfully, you never do it alone.

As a CASA volunteer you serve alongside a CASA staff member who guides you through the entire process.

Find out more at www.casaofnela.org.

CASA 101: The Role of a Volunteer 🔎

CASA volunteers get to know the child, gather information from adults in the child’s life, and make recommendations to the court about what’s in the child’s best interest.
They spend time with the child, attend court hearings, and advocate for their needs in school, placements, services, and more - helping ensure no child faces the child welfare system alone.

Sometimes, it takes hearing about CASA more than once before the time is right to say, “Yes, I can do this.”

Volunteering is a calling. And when the time is right, CASA needs people willing to answer that call. ❤️

Maybe your time is now.

Our next CASA volunteer training classes begin in September. Let this be the time you step forward, answer the call, and change a child’s life.
