Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 10th as the Monroe Fire Department presents the ORIGINAL Lights and the Fights, part of the 25th Annual Fire Prevention Parade! Enjoy food and music on the square, a spectacular lighted parade through Monroe, and stick around for water fights under the lights. It’s going to be a fun night in Monroe!

🚒 THANK YOU, PRAIRIE MEADOWS! 🚑

We are incredibly grateful to the Prairie Meadows Board of Directors for approving a Community Betterment Grant of $5,654.96 for the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department to purchase a new Stair Chair!

This equipment will be an important addition to our department and will help our firefighters and EMS personnel safely and efficiently move patients down stairs and out of difficult-to-access areas during emergencies. It will improve both patient and responder safety and allow us to better serve the Monroe community and surrounding areas.

A huge THANK YOU to Prairie Meadows for investing in our local volunteer fire departments and supporting the safety of our community! Your generosity makes a real difference. 🚑

As we come into the summer months, Monroe Fire Department practiced water emergency training. We discussed, drownings, spinal
cord injuries, and other emergencies that occur within a body of water.

The Monroe Fire Department conducted hydrant and pumper hookup training at the elementary school today, using the location to practice establishing a reliable water supply and reinforce communication between crew members during emergency operations. Training evolutions like this help firefighters sharpen teamwork, improve efficiency, and stay prepared for real-world response situations where clear communication and coordination are critical.
