I was honored to join Sheriff Marc Mashaw and the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office for the ribbon cutting of the new Real Time Crime Center, a major investment in the future of public safety in our community. Through a combination of local commitment and federal resources, Ouachita Parish is putting meaningful dollars toward real solutions that help reduce crime, improve response times, and better protect both our citizens and the men and women in uniform.
This new center brings together cutting-edge technology including live body camera feeds, drones, license plate readers, in-car camera systems, and real-time intelligence tools into one coordinated operation designed to give deputies faster and better information in the field.
The investment made here is about more than equipment. It is about creating safer neighborhoods, supporting proactive policing, improving accountability, and ensuring law enforcement has every possible tool to respond quickly and effectively when emergencies happen. The Drone as First Responder program alone has the capability to put eyes on a scene in seconds before deputies even arrive.
I appreciate Sheriff Marc Mashaw, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, and all of the local, state, and federal partners who helped make this project possible. This is exactly the kind of smart investment that produces meaningful results for families across Ouachita Parish and continues moving our community forward.
