May 3-9, 2026 is Municipal Clerks Appreciation Week!

Last Tuesday evening at the Green County Board Organizational Meeting, the 2026-2028 Green County Board of Supervisors were sworn in to begin their 2-year term. 10 new members joined the board while 21 board members returned for another term.

After the board was sworn in, Supervisor Carus (District 7) and Supervisor Wilke (District 20) both resigned from their positions due to moving out of district and employment within the county. This resulted in vacancies in Supervisory District 7 (part of the City of Monroe) and District 20 (Part of the City of Brodhead and Part of the Town of Decatur).

Residents of these districts who are interested in serving in this role are encouraged to submit a letter of interest and summary of education, work experience, and any other relevant leadership experience to the Green County Clerk at 1016 16th Avenue, Monroe, WI.

The Green County Committee of Committees will review submissions, conduct brief interviews, and assist the County Board Chair in selecting an individual to fill each vacancy. The term of office will run through the third Tuesday in April, 2028.

Deadline to submit letters of interest is May 6, 2026 at 4:30 PM.

Yesterday I attended Career Day at Parkside Elementary to teach kids about parliamentary procedure and we put it into action to make trail mix.

The activity helps the kids get an understanding of how a board meeting is kept orderly and how the procedure can help boards make decisions in a fair, structured, and efficient way.

My favorite part of the day was hearing the kids pronounce “unanimous” (ADORABLE).

Thank you to Parkside staff for having me back again this year and for the super cute coloring sheet the school made for me!
