There will be no court on Monday

Due to the expected winter storm, all Walton County government offices will be closed from Saturday, January 24 through Monday, January 26.

County staff have been working on an emergency plan for over a week and we are well prepared to respond as conditions develop. Our teams are ready, but we need your help too.

Please stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Keeping roadways clear helps ensure that emergency vehicles and first responders can get where they need to go quickly and safely.

The Walton County School District will make all decisions regarding school closures or schedule changes. Please follow the Walton County School District - GA or their website for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Alcovy Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Ken Wynne issued a declaration of Judicial Emergency that the Newton County Courthouse, the Horace J. Johnson Judicial Center, be closed Monday, Jan. 26.

I am honored that you have reelected me to a second term as your Superior Court Judge. We have had a productive first-term, virtually eliminating the backlog of cases through long days and many trial calendars. I appreciate the attorneys and support staff who have endured the long hours with, and because of, me. Looking forward to the next four years.

Model Court - that is the description of the Resource Court (mental health) program for Walton and Newton Counties. I am honored to be able to play a small part and preside over the Walton County program, and to work with a team of professionals in both counties that is fully invested in the well-being of this community and the participants we are fortunate enough to join on their journey.
