Monroe Township Police Seek Witnesses Following Serious Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash
The Monroe Township Police Department Traffic Safety Division is investigating a serious hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle that occurred at approximately 4:35 p.m. on Sunday, September 6th, 2026.
Monroe Township Police officers responded to Union Valley Half Acre Road near the intersection of North Pondview Boulevard following a report of a motorcyclist down in the roadway. Upon arrival, officers located a Honda motorcycle in the southbound lane of Union Valley Half Acre Road. The motorcyclist, a 75-year-old Monroe Township resident, sustained a serious head injury and was transported by Monroe Township EMS, with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital paramedics on board, to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Union Valley Half Acre Road as it approached North Pondview Boulevard. At the same time, a vehicle, described as possibly a white SUV, was traveling southbound on Union Valley Half Acre Road. The vehicle made a left turn onto North Pondview Boulevard in front of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision. Following the crash, the vehicle left the scene.
The Monroe Township Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, observed the events immediately before or after it, or was traveling in the area of Union Valley Half Acre Road and North Pondview Boulevard at approximately 4:35 p.m. to contact investigators. Police are also seeking information from anyone who may recognize the vehicle involved, know the identity of the driver, or have relevant surveillance, dash-camera, or other video footage from the area.
