This week, we’re also excited to highlight our summer work students working at the Paris R-II School District summer work site!

Students are currently assisting at the elementary school, where they are gaining valuable hands-on work experience through maintenance projects and other assigned tasks. Their hard work, dedication, and positive attitudes have already made them a huge help to the custodial team.

We are proud of all they are accomplishing and look forward to seeing the skills, confidence, and experience they continue to gain throughout the summer. 🙌🏻

We kicked off our 6-week Vocational Rehabilitation Summer Work Program this week and are excited to highlight our summer work sites throughout the month! 🚧

First up is our Hannibal Summer Work site at Mark Twain Cave Complex. Students in this program will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on work experience while earning a paycheck this summer. They will be assisting with the overall maintenance and upkeep of the park while building workplace skills, confidence, and independence.

We look forward to seeing all they accomplish this summer and are grateful to Mark Twain Cave for providing this opportunity!

Jhon’Tez has officially started his very first job at Main Street Social House in downtown Hannibal!

In his role, he’ll be helping support the dining room by bussing tables and making sure guests enjoy a clean, welcoming experience!

💚 Mental Health Awareness Month may be over, but caring for our mental health is a year-round commitment. 💚

At LOQW, we know that supporting others starts with taking care of ourselves. Self-care looks different for everyone—whether it's spending time with family, enjoying a favorite hobby, exercising, being outdoors, practicing mindfulness, or simply taking a moment to recharge.

Our Tiered Supports team recently shared some of the ways they prioritize their own mental health and well-being. We hope their examples serve as a reminder that self-care isn't selfish but that it's essential.

Also remember to check in with ourselves and one another. Small acts of self-care can make a big difference.

Congratulations to John McGuire, Hannibal Employment Supervisor, for recently receiving the SOAR Award (Success, Opportunities, Acceptance, and Respect) for his dedication and commitment to going above and beyond! 🎉 🦅

Today, John and the Hannibal Employment Team celebrated this well-deserved achievement during their monthly team meeting with ice cream cake and time together.
