When cold weather arrives, most gardeners assume their pepper plants have reached the end of the road. 🌢️ But peppers aren't naturally destined to live for only one growing season, and that opens an interesting possibility. Instead of starting completely from scratch next spring, certain plants can be carried through winter and given another chance. It requires some preparation, careful timing, and a different approach from simply bringing a garden pot indoors.

The reward could make the extra effort worthwhile when warm weather returns. Before tossing your strongest pepper plants onto the compost pile, consider whether they're actually finished growing yet.
