CONGRATULATIONS to Captain W. Brandon Miller for completing PA Fire Academy pro-board courses for Passenger Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Operations, and Technician.
Brandon has been working hard to obtain pro-board certifications and is setting a great example to the other members that training is very important. His knowledge and skill set is being passed on to the other members of the department and is making the community a safer and better place to live. Way to go Brandon!

A little bit about the certifications Brandon has obtained: Pennsylvania’s Pro Board and IFSAC-recognized vehicle rescue certifications are administered through the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy (PSFA) and aligned with the NFPA 1006 standard. The standard certification track for Common Passenger Vehicle Rescue requires progression through Awareness, Operations, and Technician levels.

The Monongahela Fire Department attended the Ringgold High School Senior Awards Ceremony today. 2nd Lieutenant/Secretary Chad Bartkus presented his son and fellow firefighter Dylan Bartkus with a $500 check, he also received the "Chief 63" Rob Greenlee memorial scholarship. Dylan will be attending Penn State University in the fall. Congratulations to all of the 2026 graduates!

Station 62 was activated for a motor vehicle accident 4th Street and Alexander Street in the city involving a motorcycle. Tri-Community ambulance was also on scene. Patient was flown by LifeLight from Mounds Park.

We congratulate Katie Low for obtaining her Firefighter I certification. Katie joined the department towards the end of last year and within the past 5 months completed essentials of firefighting and passed the Firefighter 1 pro board. Way to go Katie!
