Ever think the library doesn't have enough books?

Back in 1968, when the South Brunswick Public Library first opened to the public as a little house on Kingston Lane, the staff tracked every statistic by hand in a book like this! With a much smaller collection to manage, these dedicated library workers made sure to count these details:

Total checkouts in September 1968:
- 1,228 adult books
- 431 YP (young person?)
- 1,824 juvenile books
= 3,483 books circulated

Total registrations in September 1968:
- 60 adults
- 88 juveniles
= 148 new registrations

Total attendance = 1,496 people

- $70.50 in fines
-156 books added
