Ms. Broadaway’s class had a busy and exciting week full of hands-on learning!

Students continued exploring science through fun experiments, including making paper airplanes and designing their own solar ovens for s’mores. In math, they investigated pendulums and slides. The class also enjoyed a visit from the always entertaining Reading Magician!

To wrap up the week, students completed their musical instruments in music class with Mr. Brown, and they all turned out great. What a wonderful week of creativity, curiosity, and learning!

Mrs. Snyder and Mrs. Tharp’s class had fun learning about sound waves today!

Students explored how sound is made through vibrations and got to see science in action with some hands-on activities.

This past week in summer school, Mrs. Htoo’s class explored physical and chemical changes in science through fun, hands-on experiments.

They began by making slime, which demonstrated a chemical change as school glue and borax solution reacted to create a new substance. Next, they made homemade butter. Using just one ounce of heavy whipping cream and about seven minutes of vigorous shaking, students watched the cream separate into solid butter and liquid buttermilk, an example of a physical change.

During summer school, Mrs. Htoo’s fifth-grade class is exploring the natural world through observation, experimentation, and problem-solving while participating in a Science Egg Drop Challenge. This hands-on activity encourages students to apply scientific concepts, test their designs, analyze the results, and learn from both successes and failures.
