General information
The goals and objectives of the BFATP shall be the driving force for all action. All activities shall be in support of one or more of the following ongoing goals and objectives. 1. Manage the BFATP organization and all associated activities in a professional, fair, just and open manner at all times. 2. Exercise fiscal responsibility by developing an annual budget, collect dues, raise funds, spend responsibly and report annually. 3. Document all BFATP activities, maintain records in good order and provide a central repository for all BFATP information. 4. Actively seek to grow membership of individuals seeking to work on behalf of our cause. 5. Develop and maintain a web site and other forms of electronic and written communications as required to disseminate information and to notify members and the community of all pertinent internal and external activities of interest. 6. Create a fun and exciting environment for all BFATP meetings and activities to encourage and reward active support and participation. Develop fun and exciting community activities to build excitement in the community about the BFATP and sponsored candidates and legislation. 7. Gather information and research revenues, taxation, budgeting, spending and facilitate meetings with members of government at the local, state and national levels and lobby where advisable and necessary to influence behavior or legislation that positively/negatively impacts the Mission, Core Values or Goals & Objectives of the BFATP. Provide community education to inform all voters on the positive and negative performance of their elected officials and candidates running for office. 8. Research, identify and encourage outstanding individuals that will work on behalf of our cause to run as candidates for political office. 9. Fund and support all candidates running for political office within our political boundaries that will work on behalf of our cause. 10. Research methods to identify and encourage Bedford and Franklin County Residents who support our cause, to register to vote and provide assistance as required to get these voters to the polls. 11. Encourage all BFATP members to submit ideas for special projects to support internal or community activities that shall support and promote our cause. Ideas may be submitted by any member at any meeting or directly to any Board Member. These Ideas shall be evaluated for fit within our Goals & Objectives, prioritized by the Board and selected for activity as resources allow.
