🐣 Yesterday we brought home the very last batch of PIC chicks... and one bonus duck, of course. 😂

Out of 2 dozen chicken eggs and 1 dozen duck eggs, this year's embryo unit hatched an amazing 12 chicks, and I feel so lucky to have been a small part of it. For the past few years, I've donated fertile eggs to Peotone Intermediate Center and have absolutely loved helping the students experience the incredible process of watching new life hatch.
A huge thank you to Mrs. Ostby and everyone at PIC for allowing me to be involved. Seeing the excitement and curiosity from the kids each year has been something I truly looked forward to.
As PIC closes its doors this year, it's hard not to reflect on all the memories made there. We'll definitely miss being part of this tradition, but we're grateful for every chick, every lesson, and every smile along the way. ❤️ 🦆🐥💛

Today was a bad day and I'm sorry to anyone who had to deal with me during it. Truly.

It's looking like Velvet had an abscess rupture. But it's pretty rough and her entire leg is incredibly swollen. So it's been a long day of watching her, meds, and cold hosing. Praying that these meds work and we don't have to go a more aggressive route.

She stresses me out.

Rojo has a puffy eye tonight and I'm hoping he didn't scratch it :( so Hendrix and I assessed it tonight and we will see how he is in the morning.
