Today we pause to honor and remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on 9/11, the families forever changed, and the countless first responders and service members who answered the call in the days, months, and years that followed.

For many, that day was the reason we chose to serve. For all of us, it remains a powerful reminder of why we wear the uniform—to protect our nation, our communities, and one another.

As we reflect, let us carry forward the resilience, unity, and courage that defined America in the aftermath of that day.
