📣 Moline High School’s Homecoming Parade is THIS FRIDAY!

The parade begins at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 18. Come out and cheer on the Maroons!

A few things to know:

🔹 Parking areas will be open until 1:45 p.m.
🔹 Limited-mobility parking is available at the Driving Range off 26th Avenue. Arrive early for the best access. Look for the yellow star on the map below.
🔹 For safety, spectators will not be allowed near the intersection of 41st Street and 26th Avenue.
🔹 Please spread out along the route and avoid crowding the starting area.

We know there was some hesitation when the new route was introduced last year. After the parade, however, we heard lots of positive feedback from spectators.

And while the route may seem shorter, it’s actually slightly longer than the previous route!

The change was made with safety in mind while keeping the Homecoming tradition we all love.

We can’t wait to see everyone Friday. Go Maroons!

Our Human Resources team was at Vibrant Arena yesterday for a regional job fair hosted by the American Job Center - Rock Island and IowaWORKS.

The fair brought local employers and hundreds of workers together, including many of those affected by the Tyson Foods plant closure in Joslin.

We were glad to connect with our neighbors and share opportunities to work for the City of Moline.

🚒 Congratulations, Lieutenant Cunningham! 🚒

Moline Fire Department Fire Marshal Mitch Cunningham was sworn in as Lieutenant by Mayor Rayapati at tonight’s City Council meeting.

Mitch has served as Fire Marshal since January 2021. In that role, he oversees fire safety inspections, works with businesses and property owners to meet safety requirements, reviews plans for construction and remodeling projects, and provides fire safety education throughout the community.

Have a mural, sculpture or other piece of public art that could use some care?

The City of Moline’s Public Art Maintenance Program provides matching funds to help repair and restore existing public artwork.

🔹 $10,000 in total funding is available
🔹 Apply by October 31, 2026

Murals, sculptures, installations and other forms of public art may qualify. Eligible artwork must be located in Moline and visible and accessible to the public for at least 40 hours per week.

Well, butter our biscuits… the rumors are true! 🤠

Texas Roadhouse is coming to Moline!

📍 3434 38th Avenue, just north of John Deere Road

We celebrated with a groundbreaking this morning alongside representatives from Texas Roadhouse and Scout Capital Group. Even Andy the Armadillo joined us!

The approximately $8 million restaurant will seat 360 guests and is expected to bring about 200 jobs to Moline. Hiring is expected to begin in March, with an anticipated summer 2027 opening.

We’re excited and grateful to Texas Roadhouse for choosing to invest in Moline. See you next summer at the ribbon cutting! 🎉
