The East Kern Family Resource Center is a regional service center based in Mojave that assists low-income residents from the desert and Tehachapi Mountain communities, focusing on families with children who are at risk of abuse and neglect, but also serving families with children ages 0 to 5 with early childhood education and support designed to prepare children to enter kindergarten successfully.
All linkage, education and support services are designed to help families achieve self-sufficiency. The center also has an emergency supplies closet to help families with basic needs. Working together with CAPK’s Energy Program, the center delivers Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) services right here in Mojave, so that families needing utility assistance don’t have to travel to Bakersfield to fill out their application.
