Sign Your Name in History: Declaration of Independence Celebration 🇺🇸 Sponsored by the Davie County Historical and Genealogical Society. Bring your family and sign your name in history with us!

Join us on Thursday, July 2 anytime from 2 PM to 6 PM in the History Room at the Davie County Public Library as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution and commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Add your own “John Hancock” to a commemorative copy of this historic document and take a copy home to keep!

Experience history in a hands-on way with:
📜 Readings of the Declaration by notable community members
✒️ A chance to try writing with a quill pen like those used in colonial times
🏛️ A special display featuring colonial treasures, including original land grants and the Squire Boone long rifle

🌿 Take & Make Crafts – Kids can pick up a take & make time capsule craft anytime this week during their visit. Available while supplies last.
🌿 Kids Craft Station – Kids can enjoy making a craft at our crafting station anytime this week during their visit.
🌿 Scavenger Hunt – Kids can participate in a fun scavenger hunt in-house while they’re visiting.
🌿 Lake Louise Scavenger Hunt – Come pick up a scavenger hunt and complete it while at The Park at Lake Louise (less than 10 minutes from the library!).
