LIFESAVING AWARD:
On June 13th, Engine 6 and Rescue 6 (B shift) responded for reports of a 39 y/o male suffering cardiac arrest. Crews arrived on scene and immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation and life saving, medical interventions.
After extensive efforts, the team was able to identify a return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), and rapidly transported the patient to the closest hospital, where blockage was discovered in the left anterior descending artery.
Following a successful balloon placement in the cath lab, the patient was placed in the intensive care unit (ICU) for recovery and monitoring until discharged.
Thanks to the emergency response efforts, interventions, rapid transport, and quality, hospital care, the patient successfully exited the hospital with a new lease on life.
