While our part of the Gulf Coast isn't expecting a tropical storm or hurricane in the immediate future, we want to make sure you're prepared in case that changes later this year. The 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season began on June 1st, and it's important to take proactive steps now so you'll be ready.

When a hurricane is approaching, stress levels rise and decisions often need to be made quickly. A written plan helps ensure everyone knows what to do, where to go, and how to communicate.

6/14/26 3:30pm Update: We continue to monitor the potential for multiple rounds of showers and storms to develop and push across the local area over the coming days. These storms may produce heavy rainfall, which could lead to flooding concerns. Most likely 3-day rainfall totals look to be around 2-4 inches, although isolated spots may see up to 5-8 inches, particularly over areas where training storms may set up.
