Hurricane Season officially begins today and runs through November 30th.

The time to prepare for a storm is BEFORE it appears. Now is the time to review your emergency plans, build a disaster, supply kit, and prepare your family before disaster strikes.

Take a few minutes to review the City of Mobile’s Severe Weather Preparedness Guide:

✅ Make an emergency plan
✅ Build disaster supply kits
✅ Review your evacuation zone
✅ Prepare family and pets

Mobile firefighters and police officers are working a motor vehicle accident involving an overturned 18-wheeler on I-10 between Rangeline Road and I-65.

The vehicle is atop the median, with the cab resting in the westbound shoulder and the trailer in the eastbound lanes.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and there have been no reported injuries from the scene. There is heavy traffic on I-10, and delays are expected until the scene can be cleared.

🚨 ⚠️ More rain is expected across our area, and flooding can happen quickly on roads, streets, and low-lying areas.

Please DO NOT attempt to drive through flooded roadways. Just a small amount of moving water can sweep a vehicle away, and it is often impossible to tell how deep the water is beneath the surface.

Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown.

Slow down, stay alert, and use caution during heavy rain. If you encounter water covering the roadway, find an alternate route and avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve.

Stay weather aware and continue monitoring local forecasts and emergency updates.
