Steven Daniels, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District Chief of the Tyndall Integration Office, recently retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Headquarters after over 26 years of service to USACE.

Daniels spent the last six years of his career in charge of the Tyndall Air Force Base rebuild project, after the base was almost completely destroyed by Hurricane Michael in 2018.

His career, including the legacy he leaves behind leading one of the largest rebuild projects in U.S. Department of War history, will be remembered. Essayons! The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District joined Anniston Army Depot leadership, project partners, and military officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly completed Welding Repair Facility at the base in Anniston, Alabama, May 20, 2026.

Our Emergency Management team recently led a hurricane tabletop exercise to test plans, strengthen coordination and ensure the District is ready to respond when communities need us most.

With hurricane season approaching, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, is continuing to strengthen its hurricane preparedness efforts through a planned tabletop exercise designed to
