UPDATE: The Coast Guard Sector Mobile has officially deemed this vessel derelict and abandoned.

We appreciate everyone in the community who assisted by providing information and helping bring attention to the situation. Your support is greatly appreciated!

The Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report of an unmanned 25-foot white center-console vessel approximately 16 nautical miles south of Dauphin Island, Alabama.

The vessel is named Madison Kate.

⚠️ **Port Condition WHISKEY is now in effect** ⚠️

The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Mobile has set **Port Condition WHISKEY** for ports and waterways from **Gulfport, Mississippi, to Destin, Florida**, due to the potential for hazardous weather.

Mariners are advised to begin making preparations for the possibility of gale-force winds (39 mph or greater) expected within the next 72 hours. Now is the time to review your heavy weather plans, secure vessels and waterfront facilities, and monitor the latest weather forecasts and official Coast Guard updates.

Please exercise caution on the water and continue to stay informed as conditions may change.

The Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report of a unmanned adrift blue kayak with a black seat in the vicinity of Bayou Saint John, Perdido Florida.

There are no personal belongings, no paddle onboard and no registration numbers.

Hurricane season opened June 1 and runs through Nov. 30. In preparation, the Port of Gulfport hosted its annual Hurricane Season Preparedness Meeting on May 29, bringing tenants and partners together with Harrison County Emergency Management, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Mobile. The Port is focused on being prepared for the season ahead, and we encourage our tenants and the community to do the same by visiting Harrison County Emergency Management website for local alerts, evacuation zones, and preparedness resources.
