Want to Become SPRAT certified?

SPRAT offers three levels of rope access certification, each with requirements that must be met before testing.

To become certified, candidates attend an evaluation session that includes both a written exam and a hands-on physical evaluation conducted by a SPRAT-appointed Evaluator.

This process helps ensure rope access technicians meet consistent standards of safety, skill, and professionalism.

Which of these mid-line knots is Incorrectly tied? In a recent training the participants had 20 seconds to identify the incorrectly tied butterfly knot. Of the many ways to tie this correctly it is surprisingly easy to tie incorrect, and without being able to manipulate the knot to thoroughly inspect, it can be difficult to see the mistake. A trained eye will see ;)

The text alert can pop up at any minute, notifying search and rescue members of a missing hiker, injured climber, or overdue backcountry skier. Answering that alert is part of their daily lives, and it can come at any time, in the middle of dinner, during a snowstorm, or even while they’re laying ...
