Flying into Salt Lake City for a Utah road trip? Arches National Park is only 4 hours away — and the drive there is half the fun. 🚗🏜️

One of the best stops along the route is Fifth Water Hot Springs, about an hour south of SLC. It's a 4.6-mile out-and-back hike to natural hot springs right along the river — the perfect way to break up the drive before heading into the desert.

If you have a little extra time, Goblin Valley State Park is worth the detour. The landscape looks like another planet and the slot canyon hike there is one of the more unique trails in Utah.

From there it's a straight shot to Moab and Arches, where the real highlight is getting up before sunrise to hike to Delicate Arch before the crowds arrive. It makes a huge difference — both for parking and for having the trail mostly to yourself.

Most people drive straight from Page, Arizona to Grand Canyon and don't stop once. That's a mistake. 🚗

Here's how I'd plan the Page to Grand Canyon road trip 👇

📍 Day 1 — Page, Arizona
🌅 Sunrise at Horseshoe Bend
🏜️ Antelope Canyon tour
🌊 Sunset dinner cruise on Lake Powell

📍 Day 2 — The Drive
🏔️ Antelope Pass Vista
🌉 Navajo Bridge (watch for California condors!)
🦕 Navajo Moenave Dinosaur Tracks
🌮 Lunch at Cameron Trading Post
🏜️ Little Colorado River Gorge Overlook

📍 Days 3-4 — Grand Canyon
🚗 Enter through the east-side Desert View entrance (fewer lines!)
🪨 Drive Desert View Drive with stops at the Watchtower and Lipan Point
🚶 Rim Trail and Hermit Road in the afternoon
🌇 Sunset at Hopi Point

Only have ONE day at Bryce Canyon National Park? Here's exactly how to spend it 👇

🌅 Catch sunrise from Sunrise Point — you're looking east over the amphitheater and the light on the hoodoos is something else
🥾 Hike Navajo Loop + Queens Garden Trail (3.1 miles, moderate) — do this counterclockwise to descend the steep switchbacks first
👀 Walk the Rim Trail from Inspiration Point to Bryce Point — use the free shuttle back
🌲 Drive to Rainbow Point for Bristlecone Loop Trail through an ancient pine forest
🧺 Picnic lunch at Rainbow Point (pack your food — nothing for sale out here)
🛤️ Stop at Agua Canyon and Natural Bridge on the drive back — don't skip these!
💧 End with Mossy Cave Trail just outside the park entrance — easy, flat, waterfall included

☀️ 6am — Hike to Delicate Arch for sunrise (beat the crowds AND get the best light)
🪟 8am — The Windows Loop + Double Arch (easy hikes, incredible views)
🥾 10am — Devils Garden for Landscape Arch, the longest arch in the world at 306 feet
🧺 1pm — Picnic lunch at Devils Garden
🔥 3pm — Fiery Furnace viewpoint + Balanced Rock
🌆 5pm — Park Avenue panorama
🍽️ 7pm — Dinner in Moab
🌙 9pm — Back in the park for stargazing

The park is small enough to do this all in one day — you just have to be smart about the order!

No timed-entry vehicle reservations for Glacier National Park in 2026... but you might need a ticket for the Logan Pass shuttle.

✨Here's what new in 2026✨

🅿️Parking at Logan Pass is limited to 3-hours. This is not enough time to hike Hidden Lake or Highline Trail.

🚐 A reservations-only park shuttle to Logan Pass runs July 1 - Sept 7. Tickets release 60 days ahead and reservations will be extremely competitive.

While you don't NEED a shuttle reservation to access Going To The Sun Road, it will make your trip easier and more enjoyable.

Most Utah road trippers skip Bryce Canyon — and it's the one I hear people say they regret the most.

It's less than 2 hours from Zion, but the two parks look nothing alike. And there's several stops along the route that most people drive right past without knowing it exists.

⚠️ Headed to Bryce Canyon this year? This popular trail just closed indefinitely.

On Feb 27th, multiple mudslides along Navajo Loop Trail forced its closure. Currently, there is no projected date for when the trail will reopen.

You can still access the amphitheater via Queens Garden out-and-back trail.

2. Mossy Cave Trail

Rating: Easy
Notes: Trailhead actually located outside main gate

3. Navajo Loop and Queens Garden Trail ✨my favorite✨
Miles: 3
Rating: Moderate
Notes: Go counterclockwise for an easier ascent

4. Fairyland Loop Trail
Miles: 8
Rating: Hard
Notes: Trailhead access is closed to vehicles in winter

Bryce Canyon is the 9th smallest National Park and it’s only two hours from Zion! There’s no excuse for skipping this park - it’s gorgeous and you can definitely see the highlights in 1 day at Bryce Canyon.

MORNING
Sunrise from the rim
Hike into the amphitheater - Navajo Loop to Queens Garden trail (3 miles)
Drive to Inspiration & Bryce Point for hoodoo views

AFTERNOON
Drive to Rainbow Point
Picnic lunch (there are limited services in Bryce Canyon)
Hike Bristlecone Loop (1.5 miles) along the rim
Stop along the viewpoints on the Southern Scenic Drive

EVENING
Hike Mossy Cave Trail (

In 2025 I crossed 8 more National Parks off my list on my journey to see all 63!

This year I stuck to the East Coast. While there are some great National Parks, it's nearly impossible to compare any of them to epic parks like Yosemite or Glacier. I'm really just a girl who loves the mountains 🙃
