“Take what you learn and make a difference with it.”—Tony Robbins

During my time running for the Mitchell Board of Education, I learned that many of our educators are spending a significant amount of their very own hard-earned money on materials, books, and resources for their classrooms and students.

Now it’s time to make a difference! I teamed up with some amazing people in Mitchell to help create Empower Our Educators, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that will help financially support our rockstar educators!

A special thanks goes out to the following for helping make this happen for our educators:

Trudy Morgan
Matt Doerr
Kris Borgan
Heather Grabenstein
Kim Brenden
Allison Pierson
Ryker Kreutzfeldt
Lisa Neugebauer

Stay tuned for more exciting news!

Imagine going to work tomorrow and not having the tools, resources, and supplies you need to effectively do your job to the best of your ability.

What would your clients and customers think? Would they take their business elsewhere?
Would you create an online fundraiser to get the things you need?

Unfortunately, this is the sad reality our teachers face in the Mitchell School District.

I will be creating a teacher supply/resource fund at each school in the district to help teachers increase student achievement. This will be a privately funded account for our teachers.

If you see a hard-working retired guy stealing “Sand for School Board” signs out of your yard, that’s just my dad. Thanks for all your support!

Thank you to everyone who supported me as a candidate for the Mitchell School Board of Education. I chose to run because I truly want the best for our students, staff, and taxpayers.

Congratulations to Terry Aslesen and Deb Olson on their election wins tonight.

If elected, I promised to donate my $1,200 salary to start a fund for teacher supplies/resources that will help increase student achievement. Well, I’m wondering if we can start a positive movement in Mitchell to help better the lives of our students and teachers?

Are any of the board members willing to step up and make education in Mitchell better and brighter by helping me get this fund started?

Politics often divide a community, whereas education should bring us ALL together and move a community forward.
