As Juneteenth comes to a close, I am reminded of its significance and the individuals who played a crucial role in shaping it. I had the privilege of meeting the esteemed mother/grandmother of Juneteenth at the state capitol, Opal Lee, whose spirit was as inspiring as the historical accounts she shared. May we always cherish the sacrifices of our predecessors who enabled us to enjoy the liberties we have today.

Dear Fort Bend- the resilient and vibrant community that I have been honored to serve,

In times of challenge, it is imperative that I “be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger” and approach each situation with patience, understanding, and a commitment to righteousness, as guided by James 1:19-20.

Despite the challenges, I remain steadfast in my commitment to truth, transparency, and advocating for the best interests of our children, teachers, and parents. My decision-making has always been guided by a sense of duty and responsibility, particularly in matters such as the TEA complaint filed in December.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for the opportunity to have served as a trustee for our diverse and beautiful community. While I must acknowledge the disappointment of not being re-elected, I have peace and a great gratitude to the Board and FBISD Administration for the collective work we accomplished.

To Kristin Tassin and Adam Schoof, I extend my sincere congratulations on your victory in the election. I have no doubt that you will approach your new roles with a steadfast dedication to serving the needs of our community. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to public service.

To all the candidates who ran alongside me in this journey, I want to express my deep appreciation for your willingness to step forward and run for office. Campaigning is no easy feat. Each of you brought unique perspectives, ideas, and experiences to the table, enriching the civil discourse and contributing to the democratic process.

And to the voters who placed their trust in me, I offer my heartfelt thanks. Your support and confidence in my abilities mean more to me than words can express. Though the outcome may not have been what we hoped for, please know that your belief in me has been a source of inspiration and strength throughout this journey.

Though our paths may have diverged, I hope that we can all continue to work together towards our shared goal of building a brighter future for all.

There is Power in Participation! Did you know that kids who participate in two or more activities have a near 100% graduation rate? 🎓It's true! Engaging in a variety of extracurriculars not only enriches their lives but also sets them up for success academically and beyond.🙌

As a passionate advocate for youth development, I've witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of involvement in diverse activities. Whether it's sports, arts, or academic clubs, each pursuit offers unique opportunities for growth, learning, and skill-building.

One of the most rewarding aspects of supporting kids in their endeavors is the sheer joy of cheering them on. 👏From the exhilarating moments on the field to the captivating performances on stage, being there to witness their accomplishments is truly heartwarming.

Recently, I had the pleasure of cheering on my old friend & teammate Rosalyn's son, who plays for the Hightower Hurricanes. 🏈Watching them make their way to the playoffs was an unforgettable experience, especially when we rallied behind them at the Texans Reliant Stadium. 🏅The energy was incredible as we cheered on Coach Anthony’s talented young athletes!

But it's not just about the thrill of victory; it's also about the bonds we forge and the communities we build along the way. Rosalyn and I have known each other for decades, and I cheered for Coach Anthony as an Elkins Knight, Texas A&M Aggie & now as a Hightower Hurricane. 🤝Fostering strong connections within our community is important.

So, let's continue to celebrate 🎉and support our youth as they explore their passions and chase their dreams. Whether it's on the field, on stage, or in the classroom, every opportunity we provide them brings them one step closer to a brighter future. And together, we can empower them to reach new heights and achieve their full potential.🙌

Thank you, Alex's Kitchen, for graciously hosting one of our campaign signs! 🎉 The journey of the owners, from working with the Vallone Group to triumphantly opening their own restaurant amidst the trials of Covid, is truly inspiring. Their dedication, hard work, and delicious dishes have become a staple in our community.

I remember being one of their first patrons, and I've been continually amazed by the passion and dedication they pour into every dish. 🍽️ I urge you all to patronize this quaint restaurant and support their incredible food.

And let me just say, my favorite meal is the wedge salad with hanger steak. Every bite is a culinary delight! 🥗🥩Let's show our support for Alex's Kitchen!🙌
