As summer comes to an end, we want to extend another heartfelt thank-you to our volunteers! They shared their industry expertise as guest presenters in our HomeOwnership Center classes and rolled up their sleeves to spiff up Orchard Gardens and Creekside Apartments with landscaping and painting.

These incredible volunteers enriched our classes for people working toward their financial and homeownership goals and made our rental communities even better places for our residents to call home.

Thank you to everyone who helped us make our community stronger this summer!

We’re bringing the fun to Higgins Avenue once again for Sunday Streets on Sept. 20! Soon, the streets of Missoula’s hip strip will be car-free and full of community spirit. We’ll be there with water balloon basketball to help you cool off, so come find us!

Last week, Executive Director Karissa participated in a roundtable discussion focused on supporting youths transitioning out of the foster care system. HUD Secretary Turner, Governor Gianforte, Congressman Troy Downing and state and local HUD reps met with service providers from across Montana to identify ways to help young people achieve self-sufficiency, especially through Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) vouchers.

We were proud to share about The Cube, our property that provides housing specifically for young people exiting foster care via the Youth Homes' Transitional Living Services program. Stable housing is a critical foundation for building independence, and we're grateful for the opportunity to share what we've learned through this important partnership.

We have a tiny problem at Homeword. 👀Someone has been printing tiny cutouts of our staff’s faces and secretly hiding them around our office.

We don’t know who’s behind this. We don’t know how many tiny cutouts are out there. And, frankly, we’re starting to question who we can trust.

Montana summers = solar power! 😎 At our properties all across the state, we are making the most of Montana’s long, sunny days. About half of our multifamily properties have solar arrays, generating clean, renewable energy for our communities. Much of that energy helps power common areas, lowering operating costs and helping us keep homes affordable for our residents. At our Junegrass property in Kalispell, the solar generates energy to preheat the residents' hot water, directly helping to lower their utility bills.
