Ronald McDonald House Missoula When faced with a child's illness, life stops overnight and parents enter a world of fear and worry. Distance. Most families have to travel hours for treatment.

For parents who don't live close to the medical care their child needs, there is an added stress. Living expenses quickly add up. Long drives, worried siblings, sleeping in cars. Being far from family and friends. These are extra burdens no family should have to experience. Since 2006, RMHC of Western Montana has operated the Ronald McDonald House in Missoula, Montana, serving families of all income levels and backgrounds, who must travel far from home with a sick child. The Ronald McDonald House is much more than just a place to lay your head at night. Our House provides comfort, support and resources for families with sick children just steps away from the hospital. The Ronald McDonald House in Missoula is situated on the campus of Community Medical Center. We have 12 private family rooms, a common area with a double-kitchen, living room, game room, play room, four laundry rooms, and a large outdoor play area. With the help of volunteers and donors, families feel at home with hot meals, a stocked pantry, toiletries, linens, towels, household supplies, laundry machines, hugs, high fives, and more. Our House is build on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their children - not where can they afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night. We believe that when a child is hospitalized, the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine.

On September 18, hundreds of people will gather for Bandana Ball to celebrate 20 years of Ronald McDonald House serving families in western Montana.

But this night has never really been about who is in the ballroom.

It’s about who will need us next.

The family who gets sent to Missoula without warning.

The parents spending their days beside a hospital bed.

The mom with a baby in the NICU who just needs somewhere close to sleep tonight.

During Bandana Ball, we’ll raise our paddles for them.

“Golden Dirt” is a striking 36" x 48" original work by acclaimed artist Nick Turner, capturing the strength, spirit and raw beauty of the horse through Nick’s unmistakably expressive style.

Look a little closer and you’ll find metallic gold worked into the piece, catching and changing with the light among the raw, earthy strokes and giving Golden Dirt its name.

This one-of-a-kind original will be beautifully framed and featured in the live auction at Bandana Ball.

And making it even more special? Nick Turner himself will be joining us for the evening.

Horses have remained at the heart of Nick’s artistic journey, and his work goes beyond simply depicting the animal. It captures movement, emotion and the connection between horse, human and the natural world.

There is something about Golden Dirt that feels especially fitting for this night.

There are some people who just make everything brighter, more fun and a whole lot more creative. Our dear friend Stacie with Give Me a Sign Craft House is absolutely one of those people. ❤

For weeks, Stacie has been cutting, prepping, planning and helping us bring our vision for this year’s Bandana Ball centerpieces to life. Earlier this week, she opened up her space and invited a crew of volunteers in to help us paint, stain, create and, of course, LAUGH.

And we had such a blast!

We’re not giving away the finished product quite yet... you’ll have to wait until Bandana Ball on Sept 18 for that. But we can tell you this: they were made with a whole lot of love. ❤

To every volunteer who took time out of their evening to come create with us, THANK YOU. We appreciate every single one of you and all the hands that helped bring these pieces to life. ❤

And Stacie ...where do we even begin?

Not only has she given countless hours and so much of her talent to these centerpieces, she’s also a generous Bandana Ball sponsor AND one of our STAR Volunteer Dinner Hospitality Hostesses at Ronald McDonald House.

Last night, our 2026 Cattlemen got together for dinner, plenty of laughs and a chance to celebrate what this group has already accomplished.

And HOLY COW. 🤠❤️

Together, these gentlemen have raised nearly $58,000 for Ronald McDonald House Missoula...and they still have NINE DAYS TO GO!

But the best part of this whole thing isn’t the number.

Each of our Cattlemen has been paired with a former Ronald McDonald House family and entrusted with something pretty special: carrying that family’s story into the community.

Last night, they shared stories about meeting “their” families, swapped fundraising strategies, celebrated each other’s wins, patted each other on the back and, as you might expect with this crew, poked a little fun at each other along the way.

And yes, there IS a little friendly competition involved.

The Cattleman who raises the most will be crowned our 2026 Western Wonder at Bandana Ball, and the Ronald McDonald House family he represents will receive a Making Memories family adventure of their choosing. ❤️

Different House. Different kitchen. Same heart. ❤

There’s something pretty special about the Ronald McDonald House community. No matter where you go, you find people who understand what it means to simply show up for families.

Debbie Boggess and her family have volunteered at Ronald McDonald House in Portland, and a couple of weeks ago, we were so happy to welcome them into our kitchen for the very first time!

We are incredibly grateful to Debbie and her family for choosing to spend their time preparing a meal for the families staying at Ronald McDonald House Missoula. After long days at the hospital, having dinner waiting is one less thing our families have to think about... and that simple act of kindness means more than you might imagine. ❤

And right now, we could really use more helping hands in our kitchen.

We have too many open dates on our Meals from the Heart calendar, and we would love to see them filled! Gather your family, friends, coworkers, church group, team or service club and come cook a meal for our families in our beautiful kitchen.
