l model for university museums;
a bridge between the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Montana and the wider community;

Located on the University of Montana campus in Missoula, MT, the MMAC is the state's oldest, deepest, and most comprehensive collection of art with a Permanent Collection begun in 1894. Formerly known as the "Museum of Fine Arts," it was administered by the School of Fine Arts until 2001 when it was recognized as the state's third museum and became a unit of the University's President's Office. In 2018, it became an affiliate unit of the College of the Arts and Media and in 2023, it opened a state-of-the-art facility, its first permanent home in its history.

A feast for the senses. “Il Maestro! A Centennial Celebration, Works by Morton Levin” opens with a free public reception from 5-7 PM on June 18 and run through October 17.

Levin was a 20th century modernist whose artistic journey was impacted by the effects of war, love, family, and teaching. The traveling exhibition presents a selection of works, including drawings, paintings, and prints from the 1930s through 2005.

The exhibition is accompanied by “Morton Levin: Graphic Works,” a more intimate show curated by the MMAC in the Michele and Loren Hansen Gallery.

PGSM Curator Nicole Maria Evans will deliver a free gallery talk on June 18 at 6 PM.
