Our hearts go out to Chief Krouse's family and friends. What a proud display of a servants heart all the way to the end.

FIREFIGHTER LINE OF DUTY DEATH - WHITMAN COUNTY (WA): Fire Chief Jim Krouse (Colfax Fire Department) died of an apparent medical emergency while attempting to extend a hose-line on a wildfire along Green Hollow Road in Whitman County on Saturday. Chief Krouse has served as a chief officer for the Colfax Fire Department for the last 40 years with a total service of 52 years. We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss. Our deepest sympathy to the family and fellow firefighters of Chief Krouse.
