International Rescue Committee in Montana

International Rescue Committee in Montana A global humanitarian organization serving people impacted by conflict, disaster, and displacement. These individuals have survived against incredible odds.

We offer immigration legal services and economic empowerment services that help families integrate into communities and achieve financial stability. As Montana’s only refugee resettlement agency, IRC Missoula meets basic and immediate needs for refugees, asylees, victims of human trafficking, survivors of torture and other immigrants so they can thrive in America. Through our work, we build suppor

t systems, encourage self-sufficiency, and facilitate refugees’ integration into the Missoula community. Case management, housing assistance, and employment services are provided for all clients. IRC Missoula also trains and supervises volunteer mentors who provide support and guidance to recently arrived refugee families. IRC Missoula helps the world’s most vulnerable to rebuild their lives. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives are devastated by crisis to survive, recover and gain control of their future. At work in over 44 countries and 25 U.S. cities to restore safety, dignity and hope, the IRC leads the way from harm to home.

Masala, an award-winning, go-to spot for authentic Indian cuisine in Missoula, opened its doors on the same year the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Montana re-opened its own doors.

For a decade, Masala has built its success with a team made up of more than 50% new Americans.

Hear directly from Head Chef, John, who arrived in Missoula six years ago from Syria. What began as an entry-level role focused on cooking and learning English, has evolved into taking on greater responsibilities in preparation for leading the business. Join us tonight at Gild from 5-8pm!

We are in awe of the way that Missoula has stepped up support immigrants and refugees in Montana over the last many months. Still, protections for refugees in the U.S. are being undermined, harmful rhetoric is the on the raise, and immigrant families and their allies are scarred.

At the IRC in Missoula, we are aiming to meet the moment. Our team works to secure safe housing, steady employment, and positive health outcomes for new Americans. Our legal team is providing support to refugees across the state through adjustment of status, naturalization, family reunification and other immigration processes.

Want to learn more about how the IRC is meeting the moment and what you can do to support our work?

Join us at Gild on Monday, February 2nd, for an evening of community building. We’ll have our button maker, staff on standby to answer your questions, and (still more!) Mystery Ranch Backpacks available with a donation made to IRC. Gild is also generously donating $1 of every drink sold to support our work.
Please note: Donations can be made via credit/debit card or check only. We appreciate your understanding.

We love you, Missoula, and we hope to see you there!
