Would you like to hear directly from the candidates shaping the future of Missoula?

You are in luck! The Missoula Neighborhoods office and the League of Women Voters are thrilled to announce a series of Candidate Forums to give neighbors like you an opportunity to engage with the people running to represent you!

These forums are free, open to the public, and a fantastic opportunity to get informed about the upcoming election — you won’t want to miss it, bring a friend or neighbor along!

🕜 When? Each forum will begin at 7pm and lasts 90 minutes:

Tuesday, Sept 30– Wards 1 & 2
Thursday, Oct 2– Wards 3 & 4
Thursday, Oct 16– Wards 5, 6 & Unexpired Term for Ward 6
Tuesday, Oct 21– Mayoral Forum

📍 Where? Missoula City Council Chambers, 140 W. Pine

These forums will also be broadcast live on Missoula's Community Media Resource (MCAT).

Can’t make it in person? No worries! Forums will be recorded and linked on our website.

This forum follows the League of Women Voters’ nonpartisan, unbiased, and impartial format. League members will serve as moderators, timekeepers, and will review public-submitted questions.

‼️ IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ATTENDEES: Please remain quiet during the forum (no applause or cheering) and no campaign materials will be allowed (this includes buttons, posters, or political signage, including on clothing). We want candidates to fully focus on responding to your questions without distractions. ‼️

Submit a question
🙋‍♀️ We need your help — Please submit questions for candidates here: https://forms.office.com/g/ZK700bbaV4!

Alternatively, questions can also be submitted in person during the forum itself. Questions related to city-wide or Ward-specific issues are preferred, rather than neighborhood specific problems. No questions directed at a single candidate will be accepted.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Missoula Neighbors! The City of Missoula Public Works and Mobility has updated information for our community about what to do with storm debris cleanup.

As we move forward with storm recovery, we encourage residents to continue to take storm debris to Garden City Compost or one of the residential drop sites.

City crews will pick up storm vegetation debris ONLY (trees and limbs shorter than 6 feet long). Crews will move through all of Missoula’s neighborhoods, but because the volume of tree debris differs among neighborhoods, it is not possible to estimate how long each area will take. Check the missoula.co/storm website on Fridays for the planned pick-up area for the coming week.

If you’ve previously visited a drop site, please complete the Residential Storm Damage Debris Affidavit (https://www.ci.missoula.mt.us/FormCenter/Parks-Department-13/Storm-Damage-Debris-Form-336) to help City and County governments qualify for federal storm recovery assistance. You only need to complete the form once.

Continue to exercise extreme caution in all parks and natural areas, as the risk of falling trees and branches remains high in the storm's aftermath.

Visit missoula.co/storm for comprehensive storm information and resources for assistance.

City crews will pick up storm vegetation debris ONLY (trees and limbs shorter than 6 feet long). They will not pick up debris piles that contain anything other than storm vegetation. (So, no grass clippings, no leaves, no shingles, no storm trash). Go to missoula.co/storm for more details.

We've been listening to community members and groups throughout the project and we are ready to share tangible, community-informed models for growth in our city. The virtual open house presents different approaches to addressing some of the critical housing affordability, equity, and climate issues faced by the community.

While this open house is hosted and managed by the City of Missoula, the scenarios represent the areas of the Growth Policy boundary, which currently includes part of Missoula County. Staff invite city and county residents to participate.
