Don't miss out! ☀️

The deadline to enroll in MTDA's Distance Learning Summer Session 1 is June 12!

Session 1 runs from June 15 to July 17, giving students the flexibility to earn high school credits from anyplace a laptop takes you. However, like the Montana July sun, summer sessions can be intense, so be prepared to commit 4-5 hours a day per course to stay on track. 💻

Team MTDA is on the road again this week as we head to Lockwood High School for MT Educator's AI Work Sessions June 8-9.

A huge thank you to ACE and our incredible Southeast Montana educators for partnering with us to make this two-day event a reality! At MTDA, we know that sustainable impact requires deep collaboration with the communities we serve, and we are thrilled to build this authentic partnership to support local capacity.

We can't wait to dive into hands-on strategies for integrating AI safely, specifically, and responsibly while maintaining academic integrity.

Led by Frontier Learning Lab Director, Caitlin Byers, three MTDA Ambassadors—Susan Quinn (Distance Learning), Virg Hale (EdReady), and Marcella Flannigan (Clearinghouse), are packed and ready to lead deep-dive sessions on everything from building AI-resilient learners to impactful distance and blended digital learning.

What does it mean to belong to a place?

Life in the Land: Amskapi' Piikani – Blackfeet Nation invites students to explore the relationship between people, culture, and land through a short film created by Stories for Action and Iron Shield Creative.

This no-cost MTDA digital learning resource can be used in 1–2 class periods and supports Indian Education for All (IEFA) by bringing authentic Montana voices and perspectives into the classroom.

Teachers can easily enroll their students and use the resource as part of a lesson, discussion, or reflection activity. Short, Self-Paced Learning opportunity for individual, small group, or whole group instruction.

With Montana Digital Academy's Summer Original Credit courses, you can earn high school credits while working entirely from home. These 5-week intensive sessions are a great way to knock out required high school credit!

Know the feeling of “Document Chaos?” It’s that specific brand of exhaustion that comes from knowing the answer to your question exists somewhere, in a PDF from 2022, a district handbook, or a curriculum map, but having no way to find it without losing an entire prep period to the hunt.

In our first cohort of MT AI Educator Coaches, Grace Cassens (St. Joseph Elementary and Middle School, Missoula) and Matt Clausen (Big Sky High School, Missoula), decided to stop hunting and start building.

They’ve both spent the last few months developing knowledge bases using a tool that readers of this Substack will recognize, called NotebookLM. The goal? To give teachers some time back without sacrificing accuracy. Find out how to stop the hunt at https://zurl.co/sUBmY .
