This week, we're shining the spotlight on Joe L., a dedicated volunteer who has been supporting Missoula Food Bank & Community Center for over 8 years. Joe's willingness to lend a hand wherever it's needed has made a lasting impact on our organization and the Missoula community we serve.

Most recently, Joe volunteered at our Empty Bowls, Full Souls fundraiser, helping make the event a success. Whether he's assisting at special events or supporting our day-to-day efforts, Joe consistently shows up with a positive attitude and a commitment to giving back.

We're incredibly grateful for Joe's years of service, generosity, and community spirit. Volunteers like Joe help make our mission possible, and we're proud to recognize him for all that he does!

Our Learning Kitchen is serving up a variety of opportunities this month for community members of all ages to build skills, try new foods, and learn something new!

Whether you're looking for diabetes-friendly meal ideas, a fun culinary adventure for kids, or practical nutrition tips to help you navigate the grocery store, we've got a class for you!

These hands-on classes are designed to help participants gain confidence in the kitchen while exploring healthy, delicious, and accessible food choices!

As hunting season gets underway, we're asking local hunters to consider donating any excess professionally processed game meat from last year's harvest. Protein is one of the most requested items at Missoula Food Bank & Community Center, and donations like venison and elk can make a real difference for families, seniors, and individuals experiencing food insecurity.

If you're making room in your freezer for this year's hunt, consider sharing your harvest with your neighbors. Every donation helps provide nutritious, high-quality meals to our community. Please note that all game meat donations must be professionally processed and properly frozen.

Meet Mortimer! Our new friend who was recently found hanging out in the EmPower Place!

While we enjoyed having him meet our staff, volunteers, and customers, Mortimer was eventually asked to leave the premises. But no worries! He was lovingly adopted and now lives with his new family in a luxurious 40gal tank.

We wish Mortimer all the best on his next endeavors! And if you're looking to make new friends, come meet our crew at MFB&CC. We'd love to meet you! (Tank not included)
