From September 15 to October 15, the City’s Marine Adoption Committee is partnering with Macy’s Mission Viejo. When you shop in store, round up your purchase and donate the change, up to $0.99, to support our work in Mission Viejo and for the adopted Marines and Sailors of Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division. 100% of funds raised will benefit the Marine Adoption Committee’s efforts with the adopted Marines including weekly care packages, Day at Lake Mission Viejo event, welcome & baby baskets, quarterly Marine recognitions, visiting Marines at the Wounded Warrior barracks and much more. The Tee if Up FORE Marines Golf Tournament on October 16 at Camp Pendleton is FULL! We are still accepting sponsors and donations for the silent auction. This event is unlike any other: Marines greet players at every hole and showcase the vehicles and equipment they use in service to our country. It’s a meaningful day of appreciation, connection, and community spirit.

Mission Viejo, this year’s Mission For Heroes Game will be one to remember. 💙❤️🤍
On September 11, Mission Viejo High School and the Mission For Heroes Foundation will honor our local first responders, military personnel, and their families—while commemorating the 25th Anniversary of 9/11.

Each MVHS football player will be paired with a local hero, creating a powerful moment of gratitude on the field. The evening will include a special 9/11 tribute, a moment of silence, and recognition of those who served during and after the attacks.
Event proceeds support scholarships, veteran and first responder wellness programs, and the Konrad Reuland Community Hero Award.

Are you a junior in high school? Then you’re eligible for a FREE JuniorFit Pass at the Montanoso and Sierra Recreation and Fitness Centers!

ONLY students in their junior year of high school are eligible for a 11th Grade JuniorFit Pass, but can be from ANY school.

Montanoso Recreation and Fitness Center (located at 25800 Montanoso Drive) amenities include a gym, heavy lifting room, low-impact room, 25-yard heated pool, spa, fitness classes, tennis courts and a basketball court.

Sierra Recreation and Fitness Center (located at 26887 Recodo Lane) amenities include a gym, 25-yard heated pool, spa, fitness classes, pickleball courts and tennis courts.

JuniorFit Passes will expire on August 12, 2027. To activate JuniorFit Pass, students must bring a copy of their student ID or course schedule, and a parent/legal guardian to Montanoso or Sierra Recreation and Fitness Centers.

From August 1 through September 30, we’re assembling Welcome Baskets to help new Marines settle into the barracks with comfort, dignity, and a warm welcome from our community.

These baskets are filled with essentials that every Marine deserves on day one, and your donations make it possible.

🧺 Items Needed:
• Twin XL sheet sets
• Queen pillows
• Bath towel sets (towel, hand towel, washcloth)
• Cleaning & laundry products
• Backpack laundry bags
• Multi‑outlet surge protectors
• Boxed or bagged snacks

Mission Viejo… our adopted Marines have been BUSY and we need your help! 👶🍼

The Marine Adoption Committee is putting together amazing baby baskets for expecting Marine families at Camp Pendleton—packed with blankets, onesies, soaps, creams, and all the essentials.

But we’re running low on diapers and baby wipes, and we’d love your support to finish these baskets before they head to Camp Pendleton on August 15.

If you’re able, please drop donations in the bins located at the Mission Viejo Library or City Hall. We accept donations year‑round, but this push helps us support the many Marine families preparing for their newest arrivals.

A HUGE Thank You to our Camp Pendleton’s Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division Color Guard and Band for participating in the City's 250th parade. Founded on November 10, 1775, Marines have served honorably in every climate and place.
From the shores of Tripoli to the valleys of Afghanistan, Marines have always
been ready when the nation needs them most, and truly living their motto, Semper Fidelis.
Under the leadership of Officer in Charge Captain Eric Kyne and led on
the march by Drum Major Staff Sergeant Kenneth Schweizer,
the pride of Camp Pendleton—the 1st Marine Division Band led the parade!
