Our Story
Each year, the Christ Child Society of South Bend, one of 44 chapters across the country, purchases new clothing and books for under resourced children in our community and distributes them in the Fall. Christ Child warms the hearts, souls and bodies of these children and their families. The stress of poverty is lessened a bit. One more child feels a little prouder in brand new shoes and a coat that wasn’t hand-me-down.
CCS has brought hope to families for nearly 70 years, working to break the cycle of poverty, knowing the significance of a warm coat and seeing the smile that comes from sharing with those who have so little.
Since 1947, we have distributed clothing to nearly 200,000 children and infants thanks to the generosity of our members and friends like you. Can you think of a better investment in the future of our community than treasuring the children who will grow to lead, to work, to build, to educate… to make this community better and brighter?
