With all the worthy causes asking for your hard earned dollars, it's important that we explain why donating to the GOPSJC deserves special consideration. Here are the FIVE important ways our donors help the Party:
1. Candidates: We devote nearly 70% of our gross revenue to candidate support. Joseph County GOP struggled to find quality candidates to fill the ballot; and, while that has changed, ha
ving resources available to our candidates increases their likelihood of success and helps us recruit exceptional individuals in the future. Our nationally recognized "Candidates College" program exemplifies the commitment we made to recruiting, training, and supporting excellent candidates.
2. Political Operations: For our candidates to succeed, we must heavily invest in "get-out-the-vote," voter identification, voter registration, door-to-door, and phone banking efforts.
3. Communications: We're proud of the conservative message of Constitutional government, and we consider it our job to educate our community about what we believe. (We're not exactly confident that our school systems and media will do the job.) We send out weekly emails containing original news commentary and important announcements. We publish a monthly newsletter. And we maintain regular updates on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
4. RepubliCARE: As conservatives, we believe that the government ineffectively and inefficiently addresses the needs of our less fortunate neighbors. As a solution, we strongly believe that non-profits, service organizations, churches and the like do a better job than bureaucrats. Under our unique RepubliCARE initiative (founded in 2009), we have, among other things, delivered food to hungry families, helped cancer patients purchase Ensure, and paid for prescriptions when people couldn't afford them. Your generosity helps us remind conservatives that opposing big government is one thing -- actively doing something to make big government less necessary is quite another.
5. Scholarships: The GOPSJC is highly committed to the future of our young people. This year, we are inaugurating a scholarship program that encourages our young people to attend conservative institutions of higher learning and enter professions in which conservatives are highly under-represented (such as journalism and education). Through our scholarship program, we hope to cultivate tomorrow's team of Party leaders and elected officials who will also promote conservatism in the professional world. We intend to build a party that changes "politics as usual" in St. Joseph County and becomes a national example of a successful GOP county organization. But, put simply, we can't achieve that goal without the generous support of our donors. As a token of our appreciation, we're pleased to offer the following benefits to our contributors:
* A subscription to "The Pulse," which is our professionally published monthly newsletter;
* Free admission to many of our signature events, such as Lincoln Day Dinner, Dyngus Day, and Chairman's Breakfast -- all of which feature exceptional keynote speakers;
* Private and small group meetings with high level public officials;
* Free campaign materials, such as yardsigns, bumper stickers, and buttons; and
* Special meetings and access to Party leadership. People often wonder when things will ever change in St. When will we ever create private sector jobs? When will we ever reduce the size of our local government? When will we ever reverse the local income tax increase that the Democrats imposed during the recession? A simple reality answers these questions: these things will happen when we finally elect Republican leadership. Please consider donating to the GOPSJC today.
