Here’s what’s known—no fluff, just facts:
Who Is Operating the Weaponized Drones in Haiti?
1. A Task Force Under Prime Minister Alix Fils-Aimé
The drone operations are orchestrated by a government-created special task force under the authority of Acting Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils‑Aimé. This task force coordinates drone strikes as part of an aggressive strategy to reclaim territory lost to gangs.
2. Support from U.S. Private Contractors
This task force is backed by U.S.-based private military contractors, notably Vectus Global, led by Erik Prince (founder of Blackwater). His firm has been contracted under a 10-year agreement with the transitional Haitian government to not only carry out drone operations but eventually assist in tax collection.
3. Reported Impact and Scale
• The operations have used commercial drones retrofitted with explosive devices—commonly referred to as FPV or first-person-view drones.
• Since March 2025, these strikes have reportedly resulted in hundreds of gang member casualties and some civilian injuries.
