Go Minturn Minturn’s oldest families settled at the confluence of Gore Creek and the Eagle River in the late 1800s.

Come explore Minturn’s quaint shops, historic Colorado architecture, great casual restaurants, and dozens of outdoor adventure activities – just 10 minutes from Vail and Beaver Creek! Some created homesteads and farmed the land, while others mined silver in the mountains high above town. With the arrival of the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad in 1887, Minturn quickly developed into a booming crossroa

ds for transportation and industry. By the turn of the century, a growing population of mining and railroad workers and their families raised the demands for business and services in town. In response, Minturn was incorporated on November 15, 1904. Minturn has adapted to several major changes in the local economy over the decades, including the development of Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts, the closing of the Gilman mine, and the abandonment of rail lines through Minturn. Despite this transformation from the Old West to the new, Minturn maintains its distinctive character, architecture and quality of life. Today, it retains its reputation as one of the friendliest towns in the Rocky Mountains.

FIRST FRIDAY UPDATE: Plans have changed...because well - it's Minturn. 😉
And because it's Minturn... we're keeping things casual. 😎🎶

We have a little update to tonight's First Friday music lineup at Rocky Mountain Taco!

Local musician Scotty Kabel will kick things off from 4:00–5:30 PM with his soulful acoustic sound. Then, Scotty and ManMaker will join forces for a short set together before ManMaker takes over at 6:00 PM to turn things up a notch! 🎸🤘

We still encourage everyone to arrive by 6pm to get your drink tickets. Drink tickets will be given out from 4-6, but the party will continue into the evening.
So come early, stay late, grab some tacos, and enjoy a little bit of everything.

Bear activity is surging in Eagle County!

Between July 1 and August 18, Eagle County Sheriff’s Office dispatch logged 290 bear calls, while Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) received 81 reports—47 involving property damage. There have been several reported instances of bears entering homes and businesses through open doors and windows. These encounters are not just happening at night, they are also happening during the daylight hours.

As bears prepare for hibernation, they are actively hunting for calories. Due to this year’s drought, they cannot find the nourishment they need up high, hence they are coming into neighborhoods desperately searching for food. Do not approach or follow bears. If you encounter an aggressive bear, report it immediately.

Xcel will be conducting an emergency repair at Maloit Park this afternoon (Monday, 8/24). Power in Maloit Park will need to be shutoff for the repair.

The expected outage will be from 4pm - 8pm.
