Mint Hill Residents,

On behalf of the Town of Mint Hill and the Board of Commissioners, I offer heartfelt congratulations to all 2026 graduates. Graduation marks an important milestone and reflects years of dedication, perseverance, and hard work. You have overcome challenges, stayed focused on your goals, and shown the determination to succeed. I am proud of your accomplishments.

Now that school is out, we are seeing a lot of Personal Conveyance Vehicles (PCVs) and E-bikes. In general, riders are expected to follow traffic laws, operate at safe speeds, yield to pedestrians, and avoid reckless or unsafe behavior. The town’s recently adopted ordinance regulating these types of vehicles includes requirements related to age, equipment, lighting, parking, permitted areas, and restrictions on certain roads, sidewalks, parks, or public property. The goal is to balance convenient transportation options with public safety and community quality of life.

As we conclude the annual budget cycle, I’m pleased to share that the proposed tax rate for the upcoming year remains $0.225 per $100 of assessed valuation, unchanged from the FY 2025-26 rate. I appreciate the dedication of our staff and Board in preparing and approving the town budget.

Our first Family Fun Night will take place at Mint Hill Veterans Park on Saturday, June 20 starting at 6:30 pm featuring the music of the Bailey Marie Band. In addition to the concert there will be a variety of your favorite food vendors, inflatables, and family games.

Stay cool and stay hydrated during this heat.

Dale Dalton
Mint Hill Mayor

Hurricane season officially starts June 1st.

Experts expect six to nine hurricanes this season, with the possibility of two to three becoming major hurricanes. Here in Mecklenburg County, flooding is often our biggest threat!

Just six inches of fast-moving water can knock someone off their feet. One foot of rushing water can move a car. When you see floodwaters, turn around, don't drown!

Stay prepared:
- Flooding can happen anywhere — even outside of a floodplain. Find your flood risk by clicking the 3D Flood Zone button at StormWater.CharMeck.org
- Flood insurance isn’t included in traditional policies, but the National Flood Insurance Program is open to everyone: https://meck.co/4fvL2zp.
- Build an emergency kit. Pack non-perishable food for the family, flashlights, medications, pet supplies and extra batteries.
- Get emergency alerts on flooding: https://meck.co/48Oa8mu
- MAKE A PLAN! Know your evacuation routes. Get tips: Ready.gov/Plan
